Ride Safely.
I just wanted to remind everyone to force their children to wear a helmet when riding their bicycles, or remind themselves! I know I sometimes forget, and I cycle practically everywhere, and it's really easy to forget. I say this because today I started an assignment to take photographs for fliers and leaflets and posters about the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling. Not just me, for schools...a lot of people are involved because recently a little girl in our community was knocked off her bike when riding. She had such severe brain damage that her parents decided to take her off life support and she died almost instantly. The doctors said she would never walk or talk again. :( If she had been wearing a helmet the damage done would have been significantly reduced. And the sad thing is that she wore one all the time, she just forgot that one day...and that happened to be her unlucky day. So ride safely, and appreciate every single day you are given. :)
Glad you all liked my video! Have a great day! Love Miss L. :)

I totally agree with you about helmet safety. Here in Ontario, Canada it is the law for everyone under the age of 19 to wear a helmet, but I think it should be the law for all ages. I get so upset when I see riders wear their helmets over caps, hats or even without the strap buckled. It's a good message, thanks for sharing.
you are doing such a good thing LuLu:)
you are so inspirational, you are doing a great thing, and thank you for putting that reminder out there!
Wow, that is so sad. :(
Thanks for the reminder, Lulu. I have two little girls that look adorable in helmets, so I'm all over that! Safety & cuteness...why not!?! :)
These pictures are great, Lulu! I'm loving that second one! The color is awesome. Good work, as usual!
Thank you for that inspirational reminder. I do not even let my daughter ride her tricycle or her 3 wheeled scooter with out her helmet. I am very protective about that! Six years ago, a little girl that I use to babysit, was out at her grandparents riding her bike WITH her helmet on. She fell off and hit the curb. She was in a coma for 2 weeks and eventually pulled through with no permanent damage. If it would not have been for her helmet, she would have died. I get so mad and sad when I see people not putting helmets on their children.
Debb. that's great that it's law there. I don't think it is here.
Kim, thanks. :)
Jennifer, thank you!
Amy, I know. It sent shockwaves through our whole community. Terrible thing. And you girls would look cute in ANYTHING! :P
Thanks Angela. That is great that she pulled through - shows that helmets can make all the difference. :)
Love the first pic. Great bokeh.
Hi Lulu! This is a really great thing of you to do. What a sad story. I know I am prob. a bad parent but I sometimes forget. So I will remind my kids extra next time.
Great reminder, Lulu. I'm sorry that happened, those poor parents. Nice helmet too, I used to have almost the same one! (But I lost it lol.. )
Oh my gosh, that's so sad. Now I'm sad and my heart goes out to the parents. What a tough call for the parents. I could ot imagine.
Your pics are great and beautiful to get the reminder out there.
Thank you for the reminder. That is such a terrible thing to happen to a little girl and her parents... that's just so tragic. :(
I grew up in Ontario so I remember the helmet law very well. The police also talked about helmet safety in the schools, which was good. It sounds like your community will be starting a similar campaign. Hey, since it's for a project, maybe you'll be able to take some action shots of your sister/friends bicycling with their helmets on! That would be a good excuse to practice on people! Anyway, I love the ones you already took, and #1 is especially cool. :)
Thank you!
Oh that poor family!!!!! How terribly sad! :( I'm super anal about helmets on my kids when biking and scootering. They know it's NOT an option :)
Aww, what a terrible story but it's lovely that you're doing this as a public service. (((hugs)))
